#14: CERAMIC Art & Civilisation - A discussion with ceramic historian and writer Paul Greenhalgh

In this episode we had the very great honour of speaking with Paul Greenhalgh about his new book 'Ceramic Art & Civilisation' which has just been published.

Paul is currently Executive Director at the Sainsbury Centre in East Anglia and also professor of Art History and Museum Strategy at UEA.

Formerly in his career he was an arts student, practicing painter, art history lecturer and Deputy Keeper of Ceramic at The Victoria & Albert Museum, London.

We discuss what prompted him to write his new book, why he felt he needed to win back space for ceramic as a valid art form and the importance of ceramic not only as a visual art but also for society and civilisation in general.

The Stratford Gallery clients can also obtain a generous 20% discount when purchasing Paul's new book, listen out for the discount code at the end of the podcast!
